Our Services

From precision directional drilling to rapid emergency response, AM Underground INC brings the right crew, equipment, and expertise to every job.

01

Directional Drilling

Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) is a trenchless method of installing underground pipes, conduits, and cables along a precisely controlled bore path β€” with minimal surface disruption. It's the preferred solution for crossings beneath roads, rivers, railways, and developed areas where open cutting isn't practical or permitted.

Our HDD crews handle everything from small-diameter utility bores to large-scale infrastructure crossings. We operate a full fleet of modern drilling equipment capable of handling a wide range of soil conditions β€” from soft clay to hard rock β€” and varying bore lengths and diameters.

What we drill for: fiber optic conduit, electrical conduit, water and sewer lines, gas lines, communication duct banks, and more.

Key advantages: Minimal environmental impact. Works under waterways, highways, and existing infrastructure with precision guidance systems that keep every bore on target.

02

Trenching

Trenching is one of the most efficient methods for installing underground utilities across open terrain, new developments, and along road corridors. Our crews excavate precise, narrow trenches to the required depth and width β€” then carefully install conduit, cable, or pipe before backfilling and restoring the surface to its original condition.

We operate a full fleet of trenching equipment capable of handling a wide range of soil types and project scales, from small residential runs to large commercial and telecom infrastructure builds.

What we trench for: fiber optic conduit, electrical conduit, water and sewer lines, gas lines, irrigation systems, and communication duct banks.

Key advantages: Fast installation over long distances, cost-effective for open terrain, compatible with all utility types, and fully restored upon completion.

03

Emergency Services

Underground infrastructure doesn't wait for business hours β€” and neither do we. AM Underground INC maintains rapid-response crews available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to handle urgent excavation, line strikes, fiber cuts, and infrastructure failures as soon as they happen.

When a cable is cut, a line is struck, or a conduit is damaged, every minute of downtime matters. Our emergency crews arrive on-site quickly, assess the situation, and execute the repair with the same precision and professionalism as any planned project.

Emergency capabilities: fiber restoration, conduit repair, emergency excavation, utility strike response, and temporary bypass installation.

Available: 24/7/365 β€” call us any time and a real person will respond.

Advanced Installation Technology

Fiber Blowing & Cable Jetting

Fiber blowing β€” also known as cable jetting β€” is the modern standard for fiber optic cable installation. Instead of pulling cable with physical force, we use high-pressure compressed air to propel the cable through conduit quickly, safely, and over much greater distances. AM Underground INC is fully equipped and experienced to handle fiber blowing on any scale.

How It Works

Fiber blowing uses a specialized jetting machine that feeds cable into a pre-installed conduit or microduct while compressed air propels it forward at high speed. The cable essentially floats through the duct on a cushion of air β€” eliminating friction and pull stress that damages fiber during traditional installation.

Our crews use calibrated blowing systems matched to the specific cable and conduit specs on each job, monitoring air pressure, speed, and distance in real time throughout every run.

For runs beyond a single blow distance, we install intermediate access points, splice segments, and continue β€” giving you continuous coverage with no compromise in cable quality.

01

Conduit Inspection

We inspect the conduit for bends, obstructions, and seal integrity before any cable is introduced.

02

Machine Setup & Calibration

Our jetting machine is calibrated to match the cable diameter, conduit size, and target distance of the run.

03

Pressurized Cable Blow

Compressed air propels the cable through the duct at high speed β€” no pulling force, no friction damage to the fiber.

Why Fiber Blowing?

Zero Cable Tension

Air pressure rather than mechanical force eliminates stretch, kinks, and signal-damaging stress on the fiber strands during installation.

Dramatically Faster

Operators can blow up to 10,000 feet of cable per hour or more β€” a job that might take a large pull crew several days. Shorter timelines, lower costs.

Longer Runs

Air-assisted installation handles conduit bends that stop traditional pulling cold. We can reach up to 33,000 feet in a single shot.

Future-Proof Infrastructure

The duct stays clean and reusable. Future upgrades, additional fibers, or replacement cables can be installed the same way without new trenching.

FTTH & FTTx Ready

Fiber blowing is the preferred method for Fiber-to-the-Home deployments β€” the same networks we build for Verizon, AT&T, and Google.

Lower Total Cost

Shorter install times, fewer workers needed, minimal cable waste, and zero post-install repairs from pull damage mean significant project savings.

Blowing vs. Traditional Pulling

Fiber Blowing β€” Recommended

  • No tension or mechanical stress on the cable
  • Install thousands of feet per hour with just 2 operators
  • Works smoothly around bends and complex route geometry
  • Supports long-distance runs up to 33,000 feet
  • Duct stays clean and reusable for future upgrades
  • Ideal for FTTH, FTTx, and large-scale ISP buildouts
  • Lower labor cost per foot of cable installed

Traditional Pulling

  • Physical force can stress or damage sensitive fiber
  • Requires larger crews and more ground equipment
  • Bends and route complexity limit installation distance
  • Best suited only for short, straight runs
  • Repeated use causes duct wear over time
  • Not recommended for large-scale fiber deployments
  • Higher labor cost for equivalent coverage
